Mühlhauser Halde in Baden-Württemberg

The Mülhauser Halde nature reserve is located on the territory of the town of Villingen-Schwenningen in the Schwarzwald-Baar district (Black Forest). The area of about 52 hectares has been under nature conservation since 1995. It is a cultural landscape with juniper heaths, rough grasslands, copses, groups of trees, spring outlets with small calcareous fens, fertile meadows, tall forb and shrub vegetation along as well as shallow water ponds. The area thus offers numerous and diverse habitats for rare and protected animal and plant species.

Brigitte and Nicolas Batsching-Lemesle from the cheese dairy Le Frombaar GbR in Sumpfohren have been in charge of the malaise traps since the beginning of the project. You can find more information at www.frombaar.de.
